Google Web Designer is an advanced web application that lets you design and build HTML5 advertisements and other web content using an integrated visual and code interface.  Using Google Web Designer’s Design view you can create content using drawing tools, text, and 3D objects, and you can animate objects and events on a timeline.

Google Web Designer’s Code view lets you create CSS, JavaScript, and XML files, and uses syntax highlighting and code autocompletion that makes your code easier to write with fewer errors.

Once you’re done creating your content, you can style it for multiple screen sizes using Google Web Designer’s responsive layout tools, then publish your final document with clean, human-readable HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.

Google Web Designer also provides a library of components that lets you add image galleries, videos, maps, and other kinds of functions to your websites and advertisements.

Google Web Designer is free to download and free to use.

Google Web Designer Certified!

An HTML5 Advertisement

Shortly after becoming “Google Web Designer Fundamentals Certified” I wanted to put my new found knowledge to test by designing an engaging, interactive, animated HTML5 ad creative.

The HTML5 advertisement below does a great job of compacting a lot of information in a limited amount of “eye-catching” space.  Once you’ve got your media assets in place and with a little help from Pixlr (online photo editor), your HTML5 creations come to life quickly.  All that’s left to do is publish your work, either Locally to Google Drive or to DoubleClick Studio.

Are you creating interactive HTML5 ads and other HTML5 content?

If so, give Google Web Designer a go!
